P. O. P. : W. I. P. - CHARACTER TEST ANIMATIONS

WORK IN PROGRESS: CHARACTER TEST ANIMATIONS

Nihl: Test Animation

Here you can see that Nihl's first walk cycle has been rendered by hand, frame by frame, in flash, it gives his character that rough and sketchy feel, like his skitish personality. Using onion skin, you can see frames before the current one, so that allowed us to draw over the last, but with a subtle change, this is a very handy tool and has saved us a ot of time to get it looking good.

Seraphi: Test Animation

Here is Seraphi's first Floating Cycle, it helps you feel she is more gentile than she really is, sheep in wolfs clothing, which is revealed in the final scene. Floating around and making slow, smooth, movements, adds to her angelic form. I used Photoshop to cut out the pieces of Seraphi, then imported each part with a transparent background into flash. Then bone tool was used to create armatures, witch allow you to essentially put a puppet together out of the pieces and when you move a lower limb, the rest moves, but is fixed at the joint, shoulder. This has made it a lot easier to animated Seraphi, and will help for the final film.

These are the final preliminary test animations, which we submitted for the W-i-P assignment., created in flash then rendered using Adobe Premiere. What do you think, does their movements fit with their personalities? We thought it would help create more contrast between the two.

Let me know what you all think.

Ari.
