P. O. P. : P. P. - PROJECT METHODOLOGY

PROJECT PLAN: INVASION - PROJECT METHODOLOGY

Apart from various pre-production and post-production practices, the methods of production can be split up into three major areas: the production of ‘Nihl’, the production of ‘Seraphi’ and the production of the backgrounds.
Nihl: for the animation’s protagonist, a graphics tablet will be used to create hand-drawn animation. Because of his jitterery and neorotic mannerisms, any motion tweening would simply look unnatural. Stylistically, the hand drawn technique is important for accentuating a sketchy and illustrated feel. This look is inspired by several of the short films in ‘The Animatrix’. This will most likely involve Ari ,using flash, initially drawing out the frame and shape of the character, with Thomas detailing the creature and going over the clean lines haphazardly and sketchily to create a chaotically illustrated style
Seraphi: in contrast to Nihl, our antagonist is a graceful, floating entity. Therefore, the methods of animation will contrast as well. Seraphi will be painted in photo-shopped, with the various plates and limbs being cutout and animated into loops using classic tween (similar to the method used in carnivore reflux) as the creature hovers above the ground. A variety of filters and postproduction retouching will be carried out to maintain the visual style established with the animation of Nihl.
